CLAY AIKEN featured in Theatermania.com

Clay Aiken: Tried and True, a concert based on the singer’s new CD, will air during July and August on PBS. The show will also feature guest appearances by Ruben Studdard and Linda Eder.

The 13-track disc, which was released on June 1 by Decca, features such classics as “Mack the Knife,” “Moon River,” “Who’s Sorry Now,” “Unchained Melody,” “Misty,” and “It’s Only Make Believe.”

Aiken was seen on Broadway in Monty Python’s Spamalot, playing the role of Sir Robin. He came to fame on FOX-TV reality series American Idol, and he has released numerous albums, including A Thousand Different Ways andMeasure of a Man and co-authored a best-selling book Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your Life.

    I can not wait to see this special on my TV! I was there for the taping and it was fabulous live, and now I will be able to relive it over and over!

    I am so hoping that the Boston station will air this special. Was there in Raleigh for the taping–it really was the best concert I’ve ever been to. So glad that it will be shown in so many viewing areas.
    Clay Aiken is an amazing talent and it’s time for the rest of the world to discover just how good his live performances are.

    I’ve been waiting years for Clay to have a special on PBS. The timing is perfect to coincide with the new contract with Decca, and the Tried and True CD.

    Clay absolutely kills on the classic songs.

    I was at the taping for this PBS special and it was brilliantly done. The lighting effects, the orchestra and most especially the voice. I can hardly wait to see it again on my TV, it is spectacular.

    I am looking forward to seeing Clay Aiken on PBS. I am lucky as my local PBS station already has it scheduled for many airings.

    Clay is so talented. I hope he is watched by many new people. After they see him perform, they will be new fans!!

    I, too, was at the PBS Special taping — it was absolutely amazing! Clay’s voice has never been better and his performance of these classics was fresh and so much fun. I can’t wait to see it again on my TV. Way to go Mr. Aiken and PBS!
