This past week Herbert Grönemeyer, Germany’s best-selling pop star, having sold almost 20 million albums over thirty years, played to a capacity crowd at New York City’s iconic Irving Plaza. The 2-hour show included covers of Bruce Springsteen, Joe Cocker and Willie Nelson, and complimented his new English-language album “I WALK.” Grönemeyer also performed several songs where he alternated verses between singing in German and in English–the audience loved it!

Mario Frangoulis, the powerhouse classical crossover tenor and #1 recording artist of Greece, returns to Public Television/PBS this month in a Television Special Event, Mario Frangoulis LIVE With The Boston Pops. Frangoulis is joined by guests Hayley Westenra of Celtic Woman fame, the “Liza Minelli of Greece” Alkistis Protopsalti, French/Greek singer George Perris, and pianist/composer Stephan Moccio.

This beloved world-renowned vocalist started his career as Marius in “Les Miserables” in London’s West End, Raoul in “Phantom of the Opera” (cast by Andrew Lloyd Webber), and Tony in “West Side Story” at La Scala in Milan.
